The National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Service, Inc. (NAPNES) is dedicated to promoting and defending the practice, education and regulation of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), Practical Nursing Educators, Practical Nursing Schools, and Practical Nursing Students. NAPNES has constituent state members throughout the United States.
NAPNES is the oldest association that advocates the practice, education and regulation of practical and vocational nurses. In fact, they are the organization that is responsible for the legislation that provides for the licensure, and education of practical nursing in the United States.
The NAPNES certification program has been developed in accordance with the NAPNES national standards. The NAPNES national standards have the mark of excellence in certification programs and are above minimum licensure standards for licensed practical / vocational nurses.
NAPNES certifications have availed LPNs/LVNs the ability to measure their knowledge against a national test and offers a post-licensure credential that many employers desire. The NAPNES certification designation confirms to employers that you engage in professional skill-building. Many employers may pay an additional hourly rate to nurses who have this national certification.
The LPN/LVN NAPNES certificate programs are available for LPNs/LVNs whose license is in good standing. There are other specific Health Care Professions like RT, Paramedics, etc. that can take the licensed exams in the Licensed Professional Certification realm. The certification courses are available to the general public but only those that hold the designation of LPN/LVN are eligible to become certified by NAPNES.
The certification course is currently approved by the National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Service (NAPNES). Please check with your State Board of Nursing for state specific information.
Program completion time varies from person to person because the course is delivered online and is self-paced. You have six (6) months of access to the Certification course once purchased. Although each certification program is open for six months, program completion is typically much faster.
To complete a certification program, you will need to complete self-study modules, read and study the text, answer corresponding questions in the study guide, complete the end-of-module post assessments, and pass a multiple-choice final exam that is proctored by Castle Testing (Long-Term Care,
IV Therapy, and Pharmacology) or Innovative Academic Solutions (Rehabilitation).
You can start a certification program whenever you like. All you need to do is to complete the registration process with NAPNES, order your textbook, and then purchase the course after which you will receive an email denoting your course enrollment with log-in instructions. Please note you will be issued a separate email with a user name and password for the NAPNES Registration.
